Hi,

Personally for me, punggol village takes on a very special and unique meaning as i used to stay with my grandparents in their old attap houses right here in the middle of our punggol town where they owned a very big poultry farm rearing chicken and such..

Just abt over twenty years ago, this village kampong was still a beautiful picture of peace and serenity to me.. with all the fond memories of playing in the vast lalang fields, fishing the the nearby streams, getting chased by the wild dogs, etc..

Living here today, i see a nice blend in the sense of an emerging modern town, filled with the old kampong atmosphere of peacefulness and laid backness..

If you were me, these changes would be huge and significant, seeing it evolved from the old kampong days to now..
but as inconvenient and the lack of amenities as it can be now, i still believe in the vision of punggol21..

at this moment though, i'm still enjoying the nostalgic feelings i get from this punggol village, kampong town, or watever u wanna call it...

I don't stay in attap houses, but my aunt' used to own a pig farm here and my childhood is spent in the pig farm with my cousins.  We have very fond memories of this place...so I guess for me it brings back many special and fond memories of this place....

Thank god I finally get to sell my Punggol flat and will be moving out of this kampung next month... Grin

I'm really sick and tired of...

1) Eating the same crap at the same few miserable kopitiams everyday for 5 years...
2) Living in the newest but dirtiest town in Singapore with rubbish and dog poo everywhere...
3) Stuck in a traffic jam at the TPE junction every morning...
4) Having to pay 3 ERP fines going to work, and another one to go home...
5) Then getting stuck in CTE again days and nights, and on weekends even after paying the ERP fines...
6) Having to drive to other towns for any decent entertainment (cinema, sports, shopping...) or even food (no fast food, no proper restaurents, no pubs but only the sad kopitiams)...
7) and detour to SengKang to pump petrol...
8) The ear splitting and unbearable Karaoke sessions by the RC aunties and uncles on alternate nights...
9) Even noisier fighter jets flying days and nights over our flats...
10) The Tai Chi masters who wake me up before my alarm clock every morning at 6...
11) The kids who plays basketball at 7am on Sunday mornings...
12) The "dog club" gathering at 11pm everynight where the dogs run loose and the barks plenty...
13) The countless reckless drivers who speeds off TPE into Punggol road and cutting 4 lanes at one go to turn into Punggol Field...
14) More inconsiderate drivers who enters the car park from the exit...and stares at you because you're in their way even though you followed the rules...
15) The idiots who park illegally and block up the entrance/exit to the car park at blk 198 just because they are too lazy to walk a few more steps from the car park to the coffeeshop...
16) An inconsiderate neighbour who burn joss paper every other day outside the house and the ashes scattered all over the corridor when the wind blows...
17) Another neighbour upstairs who hangs dripping wet mops over our laundry...

I must say I was suckered by the publicity of the Punggol 21 vision then...and waited for 7 years for the keys.   What a fool I am...and even more so for those who want to move into Punggol now.

Adios Punggol!  Kiss

well bro
dont know whether to cry or happy for you
but all the best in your new homes
btw how much did you sell your house if you dont mind me asking
and where are you heading?
7 feet under.....hahahaha.....
