Popular Chinese widely-held belief. Wink Wink

For thousands of years, Dragons have been associated with Chinese superstitions.

The dragon is a divine creature capable of bestowing happiness, good fortune and luck. Phoenixes are also auspicious and generally represent the female character.

LIONS are fierce and powerful – and therefore great animals to have as stone statues guarding our gate at home or river-mouth of a State.

Fish is  considered to bring luck and signifies prosperity. Singapore’s Icon, the Merlion with a lion’s head and fish tail shows ferocity, power upfront, with luck and properity below.

The whole world knows Singapore and it’s Merlion. It seems most tourist visiting Singapore were guided to view the Merlion in groups. On February 28, thunder roared, lighting flashed and hit the Merlion on it's head. Is this a good sign ? What does it signify ? Will it bring bad-luck or prosperity to Singapore ? What do you think ?  cheers Don't you think the ERPS should be struck first ?  Undecided
