Coming back to the original topic, elderly people should be kept engaged, so they don't have time coming together to gossip.

Besides joining the Clubs in Punggol for board games to keep them alert, they should be involved with visits, short tours and other activities organised by Punggol grass-root organisations. thumbs up

Hopefully, our Senior Citizen Club can organised daily programs for the elders. Daily morning exercises, tea sessions with some programs in the afternoon. ( more or less similar to day care ) blushing

At the moment, most clubs only operate a few hours per week in the evenings.

Most community Centres, Clubs , the concept were as old as Singapore's independence. To cater for todays highly educated mass, the centre and clubs should be redesign and revamped to cater for today's need.

A high proportion of todays senior citizens are also educated. In 10, 20 years down the line, a hugh proportion of the new elders are university graduates. They need facilities much much more than what is provided today. It's high time the planners need to crack their heads.  angry

The question is are there any good things to do for the elderly living in Punngol.   mad the answer is not much. What the elders need is recreational facilities........the team is now waiting for donations to built the Community Club......not sure if it is still the same old design. ( Hope they will incorporated facilities meant for the elderly as well as for the young ones. ) The old CC's simply don't work.
