Speaking at a healthcare conference recently, health minister predicted that a new General Hospital is likely to be built in North Eastern Singapore, meaning either Punggol or Sengkang.
Population in Punggol and Sengkang are fast expanding and this hospital has to be planned and built near to an existing MRT Station for easier access.
In Punggol 21, there is only one MRT Station and that's Punggol MRT Station. The location is under Punggol Central. SM wants a shopping centre bigger than Junction 8 to be constructed at Punggol central, so there is no land left for the hospital.
Sengkang Mrt station vicinity has big plots of vacant land. So probably Sengkang will be a better choice.
What say you ?
In Punggol we already had enough of noise polution from the planes. Do you want to hear howling of ambulances in the middle of the night as an added attraction ?
