Future of Singapore = Competitive. Fittest survive. Want to see the outcome? Look at HK.

Is being competitive really the way to go? If HK cut corporate tax, do we follow suit? How long could we cut corporate tax. I think Spore needs to find its niche and be creative fast before we lose the race.

Hongkong has big brother (China) to shelter them. We ve to rely on our self. Solo red dot. Guess we dun ve much of a choice. Stay competitive is the solution. Foreign investments are crucial to country's survival. If nobody invest here, Sinkies will definitely stink and rot. Foreign talents, no choice. If some1 want to dump 10mil here but on the condition of employing some of their trusted FT, wht can the govt do?

I am no spokeswoman of the govt. Just quoting some scenarios tat i noe of.

Precisely, you mentioned that HK has a super big brother, while we have nothing, so my question is how could we compete with them head-on? We need to compete on a smart and creative manner, find niches and embark on them. Not just anyhow whack. They are paid in millions, you know.
