Something is wrong somewhere. In most recessions it was the people in the lower rung of the economy losing their jobs. Manufacturing, electronics and most labour intensive operations.
In todays recession it seems the upper rung workforce, such as managers and above are having trouble. In all up to date, 15,000 professionals with Polytechinc and university qualifications are jobless.
If nothing is wrong, if the equation is one professionals controlling 50 technical and operational staff and workers, then 15,000 X 50 = 75,000 Singaporeans jobless.
It seems the authorities are more keen to train the lower educated workers for job switch, into service, healthcare and security related industries. Unless, the world economy turn around, more professionals will be in hot soup. What a change of events.
