my husband had to clear e leaflets for my neighbour because they don't stay there and only come back once a month, so to avoid any break-in on their or our unit, he'll do that every week.  It drives him mad!! Besides we just moved in few months ago, so we are not SELLING our flat!!! Stop stuffing the leaflets at my gate!!!

Everyday i opened my letterbox, full of leaflets,  reached my house gate, 5 more leaflets at the gate. Irritating!!!  There's once i was about to leave my house and this chinese guy happily pasted the "aircon repairer' sticker at my doorbell button overriding another advert.  I told him off and said don't anyhow stick cos everytime i have to peel it off and the stain of the sticker are still on the button.

TC should have a noticeboard for them to advertise their products/services at the lift lobby instead of wasting paper (global warming yo!!) and litter the whole place. Roll Eyes

There may not have such law 'no law against the distribution of advertisement leaflets or flyers in public housing estates', but the existence of paper on a property is the jurisdiction of the town council. Assuming people throw rubbish just in front of town council doorway where people have to come in and go out - they have to do something about it. The fact that HDB or any public housing is not entirely own by the owner himself/herself suggest that someone has to be in charge of that premise. For example corridor or HDB noted as fire hazard - this will affect everyone.

I am surprise that the town council says that.

Recently, the performance of town council is under scrutiny, perhaps this is an opportune time to say something about it.

ya...almost everyday at least 2-4 leaflets....

if you are living alone or only with your spouse.... can forget abt going oversea for more than a week...if not, the leaflets are just a message - 'No One At Home, Break In If You Want!!'  mad
