While watching the MCYS budget debate 2011 yesterday, I was upset that Punggol will not have a sports hub any time sooner.  The town mass is increase at a rapid pace. Unfortunately, the facilities are not ramping up to match the demand.

Looking at our nearest sports hub, Sengkang, car parking is an issue and the swimming pools are always very crowded during weekends. Sengkang sports hub is build to handle Sengkang, Hougang, seletar and Punggol community. Its is an over spill effect now.

My question is when will Punggolian have our very own sports hub?

The one at Sengkang is not Sports Hub leh. That one is called Sports Hall.

Sports Hub is something of a mega size. Other than the previously mentioned Sports Hub at Kallang, Tampines will have Singapore's 2nd Sports Hub. The existing Tampines Sports Hall would be integrated with or demolished.

Dun worry Doobee, I think Punggol will have our sports facilities very soon. That is a must if they wanna promote water sports activities at the waterfront. They wanna sell 40% of the waterfront lands to private developers, so the place better be vibrant, not dead.
