I would believe it's possible to have escalator but need to build a shopping center at the other end first ... else, who sponsor the building and maintenance of the escalator ...

Stairs dun hv to be maintained... U want escalator? Your TC fees will go up...

maybe it's still premature for punggol to have escalators.  there will be a need though.. when the punggol population ages many donkey years down the road.    i wouldn't be surprised if compasspoint's management split the costs of building/maintaining the bridge at Seng Kang with the LTA.
