Very good suggestions  thumbs up. In fact normal citizens or people from the ground, taxi-drivers, commuters, uncles and aunties can do a better job than those big guns from the Transport Dept. Sometimes experience is much better than paper qualifications.  Wink Wink Don't forget those big guns either owns a car or chauffeur driven. Probably seldom ride on a cab. Grin

There is a chinese saying........the bees and the ants are normally very hard working and organised. Do not disturb their nest when nothing is wrong. Next, when you chop down trees, all monkies will run away. In this case, taxi-drivers tend to give up driving a cab.

The big guns knew they make a blunder.  Undecided Undecided But nobody will admit they make a mistake just to save face. Gradually, slowly, when everything dies down,  Smiley when most people switch to trains or buses, after a year or so, the big guns will start firing again. Otherwise people may think they have nothing better to do.

Whether they bring down the fares, or do otherwise, they will claim it is for the good of Singaporeans. The authorities only care for the people, it is for the good of the general public that adjustments are made. No mistakes had been done. The present situation calls for adjustments to be rectified. Nobody makes any mistakes. Huh? Huh? Lets wait and see. cheers

The Taxi Operator's Association claimed the demand for taxis service remained stable but on a downward trend. Smiley Smiley Lowering fares may not be the answer.  Smiley Smiley Looking at ways to encourage more people to take the cab is the answer. They are at the moment working with LTA on PROMOTIONAL CAMPAIGNS.  Huh? Huh?

The real happenings......

Premier taxis said, " many recently retrenched Singaporeans are driving their taxis, but they cannot survived, left after three to four months on the job ".

Between July and November 2008, unhired taxis averages 1,400 a month, 30 % more than the same time frame of year 2007.
