In Singapore's 699 sq. km. we had 7 taxi companies, with a total fleet of about 23,000 taxis plying the road everyday. ( yet taxis-drivers are usually playing a hide and seek game with commuters )  mad

Different flag-down fare, meter-fare, waiting charges, bookings, peak hour charges, late-night charges, public holiday charges, CBD, location charges. ( you name it you get it ) head banging

Different make of vehicles, mercedes Benz, Austin Cambridge, Opel Rekord, Peugeot 504, Morris Marina ,Volga Gaz etc. ( for advertising purposes ) Cry

Alamak, anyone knows why the taxi companies had to create such a confusion for commuters inspite of poor services ?  Angry

Who says poor services??? Huh? They are damn efficient, speed all the way and cutting lanes as and when they like.  By the way, wonder why they bought the Korean cars and impose higher flag-down fares.  Who cares what make/model the taxis are, so long as we can get to where we want.... Since they always like to say that higher fares will bring better services.. I gonna complain to LTA and the taxi company whenever taxi drivers misbehaved!  Always see many lining up along Raffles Place area waiting for calls!  Gonna report them to the police that they are parking along double yellow lines.  Think all commuters should do likewise so as to let LTA knows that the taxi companies' basis of increasing fares are not justifiable!  By the way, wonder if the taxi drivers benefit or the taxi companies! angry
