The side panels is fixed. It can only be removed for conversion to junior bed. And there is no wheels to the cot. There is no movable parts, so very little chance of any damage. Nothing is spoilt. Partly due to the good quality wood used & a pretty strict mummie here No teething marks, no crayon or pen marks too. Cot is still in great condition.

I diaper change & carry my baby in & out of the cot fairly easily, even though there is no drop side panel. I also had no backaches after using it.
