Sadly to say that road accidents involving cyclists are still happening. While we are complaining about the lack of cycling paths or the drivers not paying enough attention on cyclists on roads, we might have to ponder--are cyclists doing their parts to ensure cycling safety?

Having this question in mind, our group is doing a project on how to encourage cyclists to follow safety precautions while cycling. While the building of cycling paths is still in progress and as a result cyclists still have to cycle on roads ( because cycling on footpaths is illegal), it is essential that cyclist follow safety precautions while cycling on roads. However, this has not been the case as reckless behaviors of cyclists are still common.

To address this problem, we are planning a workshop is CC to raise awareness of cycling safety and to teach cyclists safety precautions. The workshop is followed by a mass-cycling, which provides a platform for the participants to practice the safety precautions learnt during the workshop.  We are seeking your opinions the workshop to see if it can help achieve the aim of raising awareness of cycling safety and how it can be improved.

Another concern is that cyclists often have the wishful sentiment that they can get away from any accident. This might only be one of the reasons for not following safety precautions even with the safety precaution knowledge in mind. Thus, we would like to seek your opinions on how we can encourage the cyclists to follow safety precautions while cycling.

Your responses are appreciated!!!
