can be done ....very very messy ....advise not to do it ....wont save much

I think you better don't do take. As after changing, I wonder where you dispose your used engine oil.

to save some $$, buy the oil and filter, get the workshop to change for you. there is one at Caltex, Upper Thomson. I heard they charge S$10 to change.
