Straits Times Pg 4 Prime.

Summary;
Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) researches have made a 60-watt light bulb glow by sending energy to it wirelessly. The breakthrough, disclosed on Thursday in the online edition of the journal Science,is called "WiTricity". It could lead to a future in which electrical gadgets get juice without having to be plugged in.

The scientists lit a 60-watt bulb two metres away from a power generating appliance. The system is 40-45% efficient, most of the energy from the charging device does not make it to the light bulb.

Interesting..next stage of light bulb evolution after Thomas Edison invented it...if they could make it more efficient in the future..goodbye cables & batteries!!
