if dead pixel, warranty should cover, of cos under certain conditions....dunno how pixel per sq cm but nevertheless ext warranty is a must for electronics over 500bucks with 1 yr warranty if u plan to use for at least 3 yrs

Warranty usually only cover only for certain number of DP/BP. eg 9 or more dead or bright pixel found.
The fact is, if u notice 1x DP/BP, u will tend to find it irritating, cos u will keep looking at it.
