If yr kid is now with cheaper rate than MMI, the reason of your withdrawal is very obvious.

eeeeks...such groundless assumption and disrespectful remark on fellow forumers!

For a parent who is not able to view human kind as equal, regardless of each's financial ability, in my opinion (I hope i m entitled to my view too), shd not even be advocating tat education shd start from home and parents. wat kind of values can u instil in ur child? Really makes me wonder..

Hands up for sending ur son to ur MMI Sengkang then. Now i understand why u are so positive abt this centre, cos I believe MMI teachers must hv done a better job than u in educating ur son.

I think we all have the right to express our view here. That's what a forum is for. Furthermore I would said that as a parent, we would like to know the all sorts of opinions, be it good or bad. As an adult, we all could evaluate the feedback objectively. However, if one would feel offended when negative feedback was given, the immediately reaction that comes to our mind is, the person may has some ownership of the school. If that's the case, this thread is not objective at all.
I dare to challenge, would you able to find a childcare center is totally perfect without flaw.

Dear Parents,

I would like to share our experience with MMI-Compassvale and overall how MMI works.
My learning is- Money or higher fee can't get you good and ethical teachers in School, FOR ME THEY ARE NOTHING LESS THAN A FRAUD so please be very mindful before sending your kids to this school in particular.

As such we sent our daughter to MMI for Nursery-2, not even 4 years old and we really had horrendous experience with them, they are bunch of liars and having NO INTEGRITY.

In short, one fine day they call us for meeting and asked us to withdraw our kid because my kid is very active and teacher is OLD lady so she was finding hard to manage her properly which we knew and told them well in advance
so instead of fixing the issue they charged some FALSE allegation on kid which we asked them to substantiate and  they were NOT able to prove ANYTHING what they claimed and end up telling us lies after lies.

Claim 1-
Camera in School- We asked them to show camera footage, initially they said they have it but later on they declined and informed us they DONT HAVE CAMERA at all, if they are right then why can't they share the clip? - No answers provided by MMI.

Claim 2-
Teachers lied-
In due course teachers lied one after another just to prove their point but officially they couldn't prove anything and one thing for sure they don’t have any integrity at all.
So imagine if teachers/management is bunch of liars themselves then what they are going to teach to your kid? to TELL LIES?? and all unethical things in life? is their anything called values in life-probably they only know VALUE of Money only.

We contacted the MMI headquarters but they simply apologies and didn't answered the hard questions or say the mess created by their teachers or the lies which they told us.

We contacted the government authority ECDA but what we understood is they can't help on this except giving WARNING TO SCHOOL, which they did and school does apologies.
It's a shame that related government organisation having its own limit and they can't take strict action against school/management/culprit teachers and MMI simply apologies on whole incident to escape but damage has been already done on our end,
who will fulfil that? and trauma which child has gone through? these are the questions which are unanswered and will remain unanswered.

So moral of this post is-
1. BE CAREFUL about behavior of MMI Management and it's teachers.
2. Higher fee doesn’t guarantee good education/value for your kid.

Note- I do have all the mails/communication where all these things are mentioned very clearly and school did apologies on their teacher false claims/misdeeds.

My advice- PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL BEFORE TAKING ADMISSION OR THINKING ABOUT MMI, THEY CHARGE PREMIUM BUT THEY SCREW BIG TIME, REST IS YOUR CHOICE, ALL THE BEST!!

Hi Parents,

Just want to share with any parent who is considering to enroll their child into this center and hope that it serves as a useful reference when making their decision. It should also be to those parents who is wondering whether is it cost effective to send your child into MMI Sengkang.

Background: My child enrolled into their class for 1 year and since there are quite a few ups and downs during the stay there.

Positive Feedback
1) Condusive learning facilities with a large compound with multiple classrooms
2) Free swimming classes (although not every week due to weather and HFMD outbreaks)
3) English speaking environment with well mannered teachers and kids
4) Structured Programme (every school has that but how much its executed? we don't know.)

Negative Feedback
1) Ever changing teachers (most popular feedback) - This is the most serious issue among all the complaints. My child has to constantly adapt to new teachers and their style. The routines are broken and she has to re-learnt. My child's good habbits are not reinforce, bad habbits are not monitored. Learning hampered as there is a lack of continuity. Good teachers keep leaving, bad teachers keep staying or coming. In one year, she has around 5-7 teachers, i lost count.
2) Frequent HFMD outbreaks - Maybe because there are more students in the school as compare to a childcare center. Lucky my child did not contract it. There is one particular day when my child is the only student in the class. My child missed the HFMD, but frequently contract stomach flu. I know its usual for a child to contract this social disease but to contract it once every 2 weeks is in my opinion too frequent. Maybe my child is weak.
3) Montessori lessons not strongly emphasize. 1 to 2 hours a day but after trying to manage the students there is very little time left to demonstrate a Montessori activity to the child. Most of the time they just play with the materials after a quick demonstration. That's what my child says.
4) Apart from the expensive fees, everything is chargeable and at a rate I consider very high. I just spent more around $100 to pay for the costume which cannot be reuse, for the tickets and for the recorded video. They do not allow parents to bring video recorder into the concert. Where is the prudency? I really do not wish my child to grow up spending money on stuff that she does not need or for one time usage.
When the school brings them for an excursion, it will cost more than $10 each when there isn't any entrance fee required. They say its for lunch, but isn't that included in the fees? The school bus is $80/month when my child stays around 300m away.
4)  Did not enforce good eating habits. My child is picky but I feel that the teachers should continue to encourage the child and not just give up on them. Another example of the consequences of the frequent change of teachers. Also, the birthday parties are so regular such that my child is frequently snacking and giving up her staple meals. Nowadays I really hate children birthday parties. I think as a parent with child in a childcare center, we should be more sensitive in distributing snacks and goodies bag when celebrating their child birthdays. I know that we want them to enjoy themselves with a party but I always believe that without the cakes, sweets and snacks, there can still be a party. Its because we make birthday cakes a norm that the child has an expectation of it.

I sincerely hope that this really will be an useful information for you and your child when selecting a childcare center which is so important to the child progress.
