'for' if the kids are using their own pocket money and not ask for more from their parents or friends.

'against' if the kids go around borrowing money from their friends or skip their meals during reccess.

anyway, school bookshops are also selling alot of other stuff other than books.

some kids going to the stall everyday buying things like stickers, keychains, fanciful pens and pencils, even toys. Angry

For me i won't mind as long as it is not stealing!
It is plain trading. 10 - 50 cent a sticker...hello stalls are selling $1 per pc.. head banging head banging head banging head banging
In fact, i dun understand what the govt trying to teach, one day tell people to be creative next day stop people from doing creative things.

I am concern as the one who voice the stupid statement is Dr Lily Neo. What is she trying to teach???

Dr Lily Neo, who chairs the Government Parliamentary Committee for Education, said: 'Personally, of course I encourage children to have an entrepreneurial spirit but it's important to look at the context.'
Encouraging one child's selling attempts may disadvantage other children who may not know how to value money yet.
--------
She suggested encouraging entrepreneurship without the use of real money. head banging head banging head banging head banging
For example, a school can issue paper money, which can be used to exchange for items, to the students.

She just want to play fair to all the children. For those who may not ve grasp the concept of money may be at disadvantaged. But lets faced it la, nothing is fair in this world.

Very interesting!! clapping remind me of my old days..

I do sell things in school too. Guess what I'm selling in school Tongue
"Bread" erm... pads... $0.20 per pc. blushing

I'm very well known for my "trade" in school cos all the gals know my price by WOM, so I always bring extra in my bag.
At that time, my grandma told me must collect "token" and must be even Number, if not nxt time no good for me.( But I nvr ask her why la)  All my "customer" just pass me $0.20 and I just give her the goods. haha  Sometimes teacher also buy from me...

thumbs up Business very good, sometime out of stock...heehee

During my time, $0.20 per pcs very exp. but wat to do ... must get even no. so this is the best price n no discount!!!   smoking so they better remember to bring their own, if not...hehe become my pocket money lo...lol

oops Anyway, little trade is ok, as long as they don't con their classmate, I think is ok.
