What you've written are good values that kids should be taught since young. But nowaday it's tough with grandparent standing in the way and kids getting smarter to rebuff. Still.... YES... kids should be taught the entire booklet of " 第子规 "

eg... Greet elderly before eating...
Grandparent would say "no need ... no need.... just eat... eat... eat more.....etc"

" 第子规 " is one part of confusius teaching. It't a guide to a Happy life. Its a standards for being a good student and child. It teaches you to repect the elderly, care for the young....etc...

I think it is VERY important.  I dont want my future child to be a total brat.  I have seen children "scolding" their parents and their parents just kept quiet and allowed them to continue.  I have also seen children making a nuisance of themselves on the bus and the parent didnt even utter a word. Sometimes I really feel like asking them to shut up.  I certainly dont want to be a parent like that.

Greeting the elder folks before eating is important. I practise that till now.
