Dear Punggol Neighbours,
We are a newly formed NWG (
Neighbourhood Watch Group). Most of us are from Damai Grove and we are volunteering to give an added security to our neighbourhood, also acting as a deterrence to crimes.
We have been working closely and supporting SSGT Michael Toh from the Sengkang Neighbourhood Police Center. There have been crimes like house break-in, molest, loan shark activities happening in our clusters area and because we are the residents here, we are more on-the-ground, thus we can provide faster leads to the police should we see any suspicious characters or witness any crimes that is taking place.
What we are currently doing:- Conduct foot patrol during night time, covering Damai, Spring, Lodge & Vista
- Look out for any dark corners, suspicious characters lurking around our flats, lifts area, carparks etc
- Spread the crime prevention awareness by pasting stickers, posters or flyers and also handling out personal alarm for the ladies and elderly.
- and more
Currently, our members list are growing but we need to make this group known to all the 4 clusters so that more residents would step out and volunteer to keep our neighbourhood safe. As this is on a voluntarily basis, all the patrol arrangements or meetings are solely up to the member's decision, and you participate at your own convenience.
Interested residents can send an email to NWGDLSV@gmail.com with your Full Name, NRIC, Contact number and Email address. These information will then be passed to SSGT Michael Toh from Sengkang Neighbourhood Police Center.
**All Personal Information will be kept confidential**Come join us today! Let's work hand in hand to keep our neighbourhood a safer place to live in!

Received the email from SSGT Michael Toh below are the write-up:*Note* NWG aims to cultivate mutual assistance among neighbours to help prevent and detect crime and create a sense of concern among themselves for each other's home and property. The scheme will give them a greater sense of security and promote good neighbourliness.
Question: What should Residents look out for?Answer: Residents should on the look-out for any suspicious situation that could lead to a crime being committed in a neighbour's house. Some of the suspicious situations which residents should be wary of are:
a) persons knocking on a neighbour's door on the pretext of checking if anyone is at home, or persons looking into windows.
b) `door-to-door' salesmen and persons carrying bags, tools, cutters and screwdrivers.
c) persons tampering with a neighbour's door or window.
d) persons removing any property from a neighbour's house during their absence.
e) persons loitering along corridors, stairways, near lifts.
Residents should be advised to contact the Police if they encounter any of the above circumstances.
