Since you have bring this up, let me give you some of my personal view...
Why they welcome FT..
For..."VOTES"
Why, you would ask me..Simple.
In the speed of FT overtaking the Local, FT votes are favourable to the ruling party than our locals.

Take our punggol for example, how many of your nieghbour are FTs,
During the recent election, i observed a lot of china accent speaking voters in the Q in my polling stations, and i was shock...very very shock.

For FT, their aim is only short term, i am also working in a MNCs, more the 50% are FTs......who say 75% are singaporean....staying in JBs...earning double of what we earning the higher the exchange rate, the happier they are.. Anyone dare to open their books?

p/s : I am only sad to say that i am not blind. I still can see...to see what is under the carpet.

Yeah. You've got my vote on this issue. I am just as pissed as hell. It's a load of rubbish. One FT comes in and hires more of their own kind. More and more locals are unemployed each day. I wonder when are these people going to open their eyes. The people upstairs read reports, look at figures and see the country's situation from top down. Time they come down to street level and take a good long hard look.

well..like it or not..this will remain unchange. this remind me of the study done by NTU regarding the ratio of FT vs Singaporean in the workplace..now i wonder was the original ratio was correct(before the newspaper report it as wrong)?
I was wondering why they are not looking into the root cause of the problem..in this case baby not enough? instead of solving the issue, they go around it and let it in more ppl coming in. Think tat why LHL did not talk about the current domatic problem and a lots of ppl not happy with the speech.
One of the chinese newspaper did show that 24 go with the FT coming while 49 of the total SMS recieved against it.
What worry me more is that not only the workplace seeing more FT..our University, polytechnic and school also seeing more F. students...
Are we still living a country call Singapore or a place call Mini-UN?
I agree with all of u guys, these ppl are not really expert..they performance the same skill as we and they get to pay either same or higher than us. They no need to go reservist or get recall back to camp during week end. Need to apply for exist permit or call MINDEF NOTIFICATION WHEN GOING OVERSEA
Sometime when i go back for my reservist, i always wonder am i protecting this country, the PAP or these FT? Do I still call my self through Singaporean?
Now everywhere u go ..u can count how many are the true Singaporean..how amny are not.
P.s: Singaporean here mean not those just got their CZship. PR is not Singaporean in this case.
