Hi,
Does anyone use Duro Lock 338 for their main gate? We used the 2nd locking screw and now we can seem to uninstall the lock! So we can't change it or fix it if something is wrong with it. If anyone knows how to remove that 2nd locking screw in the mechanism, please help!
Thanks so much!

hi, i'm using the same lock as you with the 2nd locking screw.. I've dismantled the lock quite a few times, no problems with the screw.. have u tried removing the 2nd screw using the allen key provided? mine's quite easy to remove..

hi everyone, thanks for your comments. yeah, it was a bit chim and frustrating! but i wrote to duro and they answered quickly, so that's good. at least we won't get locked in or out of our flat now!

to clarify what happened, if anyone's still interested:

the lock has two main parts. one screw fixes the two parts together. there is another screw to tighten the lock against the gate, and there's a third screw that "secures" everything so that it's more difficult for anyone to dismantle the lock.

the thing is, we didn't have to use the third screw, but the box said it's the "finishing step." so we did fixed it in, then found that we cannot take out that screw again, unless we have a small magnet or use the vacuum cleaner to suck it out. when the duro people replied, they said that we can use the allen key to loosen the very small screw, then we should press down on the allen key and drag out the screw.

anyone fallen asleep yet? hee hee. anyway, thanks for the concern!

Hi all,

I am facing the same problem, but unable to find the 3rd screw as the mentioned above.
Can anyone please let me know how to dismantle the DURO ART 338 lock?
The set screw A that holds the lock to the gate can be removed.
The set screw B that holds the main body of the lock to the auxillary body of the lock can be loosened, but can't be removed.
Is this normal?

Tried to call DURO but noone answered. Think they are off for the CNY period.
Can anyone please kindly help? Thanks!  Cry

Hi, it's been a long time since I had to do anything to our lock -- it's a good lock -- so I'm not sure how to help. Perhaps try this e-mail: enquiries@duro.com.sg. They replied me quite quickly. Good luck!
