As early as year 2008, robotics had been infused into selected primary schools curriculum in Singapore. A hefty quarter million dollars was pump in over three years to fund the project.
Training had to be done at a tender young age, selected primary schools are encouraged to tie up with secondary schools up to the polytechnics to develop their skills.
How does it work ?
Teams comprising five children, age 9 and above working as a group, are required to work on a robot ( using Lego Mindstorms ).
The team need to work together, find solution, discover, solve problems, share knowledge & experiences, have fair competition and display professionalism & graciousness in friendly competition both locally and abroad.
