Big Bold Letterings again.....

Jalan Besar GRC to get $ 460 Million Upgrade....

Themed : " My Home In The City " Jalan Beasr GRC's masterplan for the next five years. A total of 11 MRT stations on the Downtown Line are due to be completed in stages by 2016. There will be a total of 6 projects under the " beautiful and clean water programme, which integrates " WATERWAYS " with our living enviroment. ( first initiated by Punggol and copied by Jalan Beasr ? )

Jalan Besar GRC's 162,000 residents can look forward to :

One : Riverwalk at Rochor Canal to be called " Floating Bazaar " Along the floating walkway are markets, bazaars, exhibitions or events to be held regularly.

Two : Upper Boon Keng " A Mature River " Decks will be built above the river " with sculptures " to remind Singaporeans of the areas heritage.

Three : Kallang Park Connector " It connects  Bishan Park to Riverside Park of Kallang River with lush greenery along Kolam Ayer waterfront.

East Coast GRC : A New Lease Of Life, plus Heritage.... Eastern Revamp.......

Remaking our Heartland Developments : the leader of the GRC called it " Town Council plans plus plus "

This is what it is ......... At the moment, non drivers from Bedok Resorvoir find it difficult to go to East Coast Park. Now ? there is a new cycling and pedestrain path which runs parallel to Bedok North Avenue one  and Bedok South Avenue one, cutting cycling or walking time.

Other facilities in the pipe line for the next five years......

One : A new sports facilities will be built in Bedok North Street one to replace the old Kampong Chai chee CC, Bedok Sports and Recreation Centre and Swimming Complex.

Two : The Bedok Town Centre, will be replaced with a Transport Hub that includes a Shopping Mall, a new Bus Interchange and a Condominium.

Three : A new Hawker Centre, a Multi Storey Carpark and a Town Plaza for community event will be built.

Sunday Times front page......" Lakeside City Centre Planned For Jurong "

" Remaking Our Heartland Programme " this time in Jurong called Jurong Gateway. The area is the size of 70 soccer field slated to be the largest business hub outside the Central Business District ( CBD ). Home to the Jurong General Hospital, Community Hospital, a Shopping Mall, Olympic-sized ice-skating ring and office buildings. Others on the way in the next five years........

One : A 24 km pedestrain and cycling tracks linking up the region due to complete within five years.

Two : Two new HDB new housing estates ( a copy of Pinnacle@Duxton ) will be built in Bukit Batok Avenue 1.

Three : The above " Remaking " from industrial Jurong to rejuvenate Jurong's old estate will cost $1 billion.

Four : All the ten existing neighbourhood centres from Boon Lay to Tamon Jurong will have new pavilions, better lighting, playgrounds and sports facilities. The waterfront facilities at Lakeside, Pandan Reservoir and Jurong Lake will include restaurants and  hotels. The whole idea is to increase the quality of life for the residents of Jurong GRC.

Looks like " REMAKING OUR HEARTLAND, WATERFRONT HOUSING, WATERWAY PROJECTS are the theme for the coming GE.
