Up to today, only 30,000 CPF members sign up for CPF Life. Altogether there are almost 700,000 Singaporeans aged 55 and older who are eligible for the CPF scheme.
The figure shows only 4.2 % Singaporeans signed up. What has happen to the other 95.8 % ? Are they not interested ? Not enough cash in their CPF retirement account ? Or worried today sign up, tomorrow ' mati ' and all their money gone for good ? Or what ?
By 2013, another 4 years time, whether you like it or not those reaching 55 years old are automatically signed in.
But wait......what will happen to the 670,000 Singaporeans 55 and older today, who are eligible but " left out of the scheme " ?
Will the Govt. do something for them
