Anybody have any experience at your door?

Some stranger came by this morning and was looking for "Indian family" which I thought was nothing worth a 2nd thought, so I told her I rem there's 1 staying right under my unit.

She came back 10mins later n claim that nobody was around n asked if I' ve got time to help (she sounds local n had a pram w a 4yr old I think), no harm trying to help to I listen on.
Quite well verse (def not foreign), doesn't look like a crook at all.

Story:
My older son fell in e play ground n is at e clinic w my maid.
My husband couldn't leave his work place n I though maybe you can help by lending $35 which I'll return tonight about 8 pm after my husband come home etc.

So she introduce herself n while chatting, I pass her $50.

- Indian lady (28-32)
- about 165cm tall in her rope
- had a pram w a 4th boy
- well spoken English

Conclusion:
Till 9pm when I felt cheated n my husband went checking out her unit n found out it was vacant after confirming w the neighbor!

Goodness how can this kinda this happen further it's our own local!

I'm staying right above #9 only

Did you finally get back the money?

I encountered a similar situation before. A chinese lady, and her child, knocked on my door, and asked for money. Speaks English very well.
Did not give them any money.

However, I did give someone $10 for "taxi fare" 10+ years back. Since then, have encountered several other people who want "coins" and money, including 1 guy who was very insistent,
and followed me around for a while. I don't understand what is going on.  Huh?
