What is a TOP in Building Construction ?

When Building works are completed, the owner / qualified person need to apply to the Commissioner of Building Control for Certicate of Statutory Completion ( CSC ) or a Temporary Occupation Permit ( TOP )

The Building can only be Occupied when a ( CSC ) or ( TOP ) is granted by the Commissioner.

Take a look at the Building Site Requirements before TOP

1.   All sheds, site offices, building materials, rubbish must be cleared.
2.   All culvert, drains, driveway, service road, entrance have been completed.
3.   Landscape areas filled and levelled.
4.   All interiors completed and inspected.
5.   For partial TOP cases for a complex building project, a separated site access has to be provided for buildings still under construction.
6.   Directional signs for roads within the project are to be provided.
7.   Multi storey carp-parks to be fully functional.
8.   Lifts in operation.
9.   Block numbers, addresses in placed.
10.   Drains completed with gratings.
11.   Ramps, parking lots clearly marked for the disable / wheel chairs bound.
12.   There may be other rules and regulations, revised from time to time.
