Hi,

Does anyone of you find the wet market selling the fishes and meat are kind of EXpensive?

Esp the Cod Fish & Threadfin fish (Nor Hae)

Also the fruits. 1 peach cost $3.00. NTUC 2 peaches for $3.15.

no choice. its the only wet market in the entire punggol. so to get fresh fish, its either there or NTUC upstairs. probably their rental is high too... that's why the cost is pass on to the consumers. not sure if it is expensive... coz that's the only place i buy there.

i do agree that the fruit stalls have selling prices that are way too high. their korean strawberries are $10 per pack whilst cold storage is selling at $8. same packaging somemore. almost like daylight robbery. for the peach... er... i bought from the stall last friday, cost $2.50 each leh... price increase so fast? but its huge as compared to NTUC's and not as bruised.

small shop tend to charge higher prices as they do not enjoy economies of scales like the big boys. But I do think tat some times the fruits are fresher and u will have lesser bruises on the fruits u buy. For NTUC, pple damage apples purposely to test their crunchiness and nobody cares. But small shops, u will see the boss eyeing at u while u choose.

So far, i think cold storage's items are not bad. Fresher than NTUC.

After tomorrow, there'll only be 1 fish stall.

The stall nearer to the chicken stall will be moving out cos contract's up.

The stall will be taken up by the first fish stall > monopolize!!! Undecided

Got the news this morning from the fishmonger herself!
