I live in one of the cluster of flats that surrounds an open space, which is used by a group of people who practice their dance moves without fail, on a daily basis. I'm all for healthy living & am certainly not against this activity.

What grates on my nerves is that these people not only talk at the top of their voices, but also blast the music that they dance to when they gather each morning at 7.30! That I live on a low level makes the noise even more unbearable, especially when one wants to sleep in a little later during the weekends. I've put up with the noise pollution for a long time & have had enough of such inconsiderate acts.  Angry

Does anyone has any constructive suggestion(s) on how to solve this problem without approaching the 'ring leader' of the group? I've no idea who that is; even if I do, talking to them with my mediocre mandarin may not get my point across without sounding offensive.

You can try the police. But think, technically, people can make noise as long as its not very very late at night or tooo early in the morning.

can try putting up a notice for them ? get someone to write it in chinese for you.

if it doesn't work, you can try calling the police and HDB. if the dance group refuse to lower the noise, HDB/ Police may arrange for mediation at a Community Mediation Centre (CMC).

my advise is to check with them, are the representing and RC to have their dance practice there or are they doing it on their own accord? and do they have the permit for it. according to law,....they will be at fault if what they do creates nuisance to others on the public grounds.....
