Along the stretch of walkway towards the existing canal, stainless steel handrails had been fixed. Handrails will be install progressively towards the Punggol Jetty.

Along this stretch, imported heavy duty 3 inch thick by 12 inch wide by 6 ft. long strips had been laid.

Workers are busy grinning off uneven stainless steel spot weld along the handrailings.

The new jetty building / canopy is slowly taking shape at Punggol Point.

Piling for the foundation was completed for some time. Steel fabrication for the main canopy was almost done, some beams and supporting structures erected, others are waiting for timber formworks.

The old jetty was shut down. Fishing, camping, picnics and all other activities at the seaside were prohibited by law. The old police post is still in operation.
