The whole Punggol Promenade stretches 4.9 kilometres. Starting from Punggol Point, running along Serangoon River ending at Punggol East.
The first stretch about 1.2 kilometres known as Punggol Point Walk is to be developed into a Food and Beverage Centre, total land area is approximately 11,600 sq. metres. The present Jetty, old and rusty should be demolished and replace with an up to date modern Jetty with Police and customs counter.
The second stretch of seaside development is known as Nature Walk approximately 2.4 kilometres. This is the place where rest stops and fishing points will be constructed. Flora and fauna will be plentiful linning the walkway.
The third stretch is known as the Riverside Walk where the theme of the design is " Fitness & Sports " . A one storey " Sports Centre " will be constructed for the sports enthusiast.
The whole concept is beautiful, rustic and charming. BUT lets take a look at the opposite view, the Johor Coastline. Dirty, Smoky, Smelly and unsightly.
The opposite side in Johor, a Ship and Rig repairing yard, Power station, Hugh Storage Tanks of all sorts, looks like a huge industrial complex.
Drilling Ships, Oil- Rigs, Ocean Going Tankers, Barges, Tug-boats and all sorts of floating Platforms are berth alongside it’s coastal lines for repair and supplies.
The water in the Straits of Johor is dirty and almost black in colour, probably due to the dumping of waste from those ships at the repair yard.
The two columns are spouting fire and sometimes thick black smoke making the atmosphere dusty, smoky and smelly.
Wander if we can really enjoy our meals / parties / seafood / chilly crabs when our Food and Beverage Development is completed.

Punggol Point Walk :
Residents of Punggol North may be only observing whats happening to the various constructional projects underway in our neighbourhood. Whats happening at Punggol Point, probably only those foreign construction workers are fully aware.
Hundredths of foreign workers are busy working on the walkway ( at our coastline ) laying reinforcements for concreting. Some are working on surveying instruments checking levels. Others are busy supervising.
While clicking away with my camera, I stop to ponder.........What will happen to Singapore if all of a sudden, thousands of them return home. What will happen to all our constructional projects ? It's going to be at a standstill. Singapore will stop ticking, economy down, construction sites infested with rubbish and mosquitoes. It can be a nightmare for all of us.
Lets take a look at the pictures :

Looks like the entire 1.2 kilometres of walkway is almost laid. Once cementing is done, tiling will follow. The whole stretch of walkway will be lined with handrailings along the coastline.
Meanwhile work continues :
