Damai Grove consists of 3 blocks of 17 storey high and 5 blocks of 16 storey high apartments with a multi-storey car park.

The estimated completion date is third quarter of 2011 ( september 2011 ). By the look of it, in two or three months time, most of the blocks should reach roof top level. The remaining time left will be the gradual internal / external outfitting work.

For the next couple of months, workers should be concentrating on the rooftop water-tank systems.

Others should be putting up vertical elevators or suspended cages in preparation for filling up gaps and touching up building facades.

Soon, probably sample colour schemes of the blocks to be painted  for Designers / Architects / Colour consultants approval.

Ten, twenty years ago, to paint a building, bamboo scaffolds secured together with rattan were used.

It was tedious and thousands of man-hours were used. Dangerous and when the rattan gives way, the whole scaffolding system simply collapsed killing and injuring workers on it.

Today, things are different. HDB innovated and introuduced their own prefab systems. Tower cranes for lifting, vertical elevators can be installed and dismantle at ease.
