It's really sad isn’t it... when ones life reach elderly stage and the younger generation just couldn’t bother much as they are all too preoccupied with their own lives. I have to agreed with yeng that maybe the morning exercise could help a little, but i guess what old folks really want is attention and feel a sense of appreciation by others in their lives. I mean put ourselves in their shoes, I don’t think we all will want our lives to just hang around void decks and morning exercise when we get old. We want 'happening' stuff to occupy ourselves everyday and chill, after all we have been working hard for most of our lives.

I was thinking, maybe instead of debating over how sad their life could be, why don’t we come out with some ideas on how to liven up their lives. i am not talking about like a long term daily stuff that we will do for them, because if that’s the case no one will really volunteer for it. Instead, maybe we can have like some event/carnival with focus on the old folks to let them know that they are not forgotten and we appreciate them for their contribution to Singapore's society. What we could do is, maybe compile a few ideas and propose to Punggol North MP or the other Punggols' MPs and see how we could go about it.

Any hot ideas?
