Before going to the crane extension, let's take a look at the overhead crane structure and bolting details.

The main crane body can go up to 20, 30 or 40 storey high depending on the Building requirements.

After installing the main crane body,  the work platform is then slotted into it with jacking facilities.

The first extension is being lifted up for installation to the main crane body.

This Overhead Tower Crane with orange crane body and a yellow slot-in working platform shows a much clearer picture of the whole process. ( taken from another site for illustration purposes )

The whole operation, lifting of the section, hook-up to the cantilever, bolting of working platform to crane's base plate, releasing of bolts of the crane body for jacking up took almost 60 minutes.
